Taylor + Sarah’s Hampton Wedding

Their thoughts:

“I honestly can’t thank both you and Nikki enough. Your attention to detail is incredible and the song choice was so spot on. I have probably watched the video 100 times and it still brings tears of joy to my eyes every time. I invited my whole friends list to your like page! I have made sure to not make you a secret at work. There are a ton of girls getting married so I hope they come your way.” -Sara

“That was worth every second of the wait. I’ve had so many people comment on how amazing the video is. You guys have outdone yourselves. Simply breathtaking” -Taylor

Our thoughts:

Sometimes you never know what the weather is going to do. Sarah & Taylor’s wedding was on such a day. Though the light sprinkles caused some concern Sarah didn’t let them take away the beaufiful spot where we had planned for them to have their first look. It was under a protective arbor of trees down a little path. Brave girl – and all went perfectly well – and the weather held out.

Some couples debate over whether or not they should have a first look. They know it is the popular thing to do and their photographer may be pushing for it, but some can only imagine their first look being that moment when they see each other down the aisle at their ceremony. Our word of advice: if you think you will need some tension to be taken out before your ceremony because you anticipate your nerves will be pegging the scale, then a first look might be the right choice for you. We notice that couples relax into their day so much sooner if they take that alone-time with one another before the ceremony. Having a first look also opens up additional time in your day to get some creative and formal shots out of the way. BUT, if you think that you can handle the pre-ceremony nerves and really can’t see yourself spoiling that aisle moment with a sneek peek, then don’t compromise your vision. Not having a first look will not hurt your wedding film at all.
